From March to August 2017 Proud East hosted some of the finest chef’s in the city over two unmissable pop-ups, Pop-Up Japan & Pop-Up India.

The incredible Tonkotsu took over our canal-side kitchen for three months throughout the popular Japanese pop up, serving irresistible ramen, dumplings and salads.

On top of amazing food and drink there was also origami classes, mediation sessions and revellers sampled of Japanese cinema with special outdoor screening ran by non-profit outfit Nomad Cinema.

Pop-Up India – which ran throughout July – was a delicious collaboration with innovative Eastern kitchen Chit Chaat Chai. Restaurant founder Tania Raman devised a menu of authentic Indian street dishes, including the Bombay Bhel, the Darth Vada Pav burger and their house-favourite hakka-wings.

Kingfisher also joined the party, providing beer and cider and their fantastic tuk-tuk photobooth and Bombay Sapphire were on board offering spiced gin-cocktails. On top of this food and drink feast was an enticing schedule of activities, such as Bollywood dance classes, henna workshops and yoga.

Keep an eye on the website for any future collaboration announcements. In the meantime, head to Proud East and try our delicious pizza menu!
